Note - Community #1 was member of the Prospect Park community and attended Prospect Park school until a family tragedy let him without a father and was forced to move to the Harrisburg area in 10th grade and he was not able to graduate from I.H.S. That said, his heart never left the community. Earlier this year, Community #1 reached out to Prospect Park School with an offer to donate $1,000 and free copies of the children's book he wrote, for all of our 1st and 2nd grade students. He later donated an additional $500 when he visited, read his book, and told his story of growing up in Prospect Park. In his professional life, Community #1 has become the Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police in Harrisburg, PA. His accomplishments include: Law enforcement awards *four award of merit medals from susquehanna twp. Police *four letters of commendation *life saving medal for swat action in city of harrisburg *medal of heroism for actions in an gun battle in a swat action in city of harrisburg *awarded medal of bravery by dauphin county district attorneys office. *awarded officer of the year in 1997 by the american association for industrial security *received citation from the pennsylvania attorney general for my participation in a two year undercover pedophile sting operation ****received the crime prevention award from the pennsylvania commission on crime and delinquency in 2007 for reducing crime by 40% over a five year period. This award is given to one chief of police throughout the commonwealth of pennsylvania each year. ****received the liberty bell award from the dauphin county bar association for “outstanding community service” ****Dauphin County crime stoppers “Officer of the Year award” 2010 ****Pennsylvania Department of the American legion officer of the year for 2010 *****Northeast Regional Officer of the Year for the national headquarters department of the American Legion for 2011. Civic duties Coach baseball for Susquehanna Township High School District AAA third place, state silver medalist 2016 Coach baseball for the Harrisburg area RBI team Five time mid-Atlantic regional champion, world series champion 2013, and world series runner up 2015 and 2011 Formerly coached post 1001 legion baseball team Currently a volunteer baseball coach for central dauphin high school varsity team. Military Awards: Two Navy And Marine Corps Achievement Medals Global War On Terrorism Service Medal Meritorious Service Medal Armed Forces Reserve Medal (10 Years Service) National Defense Medal (Two Awards Gulf War And Gwot) Navy Pistol And Rifle Expert Medals Joint Meritorious Unit Ribbon Naval Reservist Of The Year For Harrisburg Reserve Center Naval Reservist Of The Year In 1997 For Entire Readiness Command (Three State Area).

My father was very active in the Interboro community. He was on the Interboro School Board for 28 years and was President during the year we were given the Blue Ribbon for Excellence. He was Chairman of the Curriculum Committee, Policy Committee, Superintendent Search Committee, Administrator Salary Negotiating Committee and the Sports Committee. Also served on the following committees, Property Committee, Teacher Salaries Negotiating Committee, Finance Committee, Principal/Assistant Principal/Assistant Superintendent Search Committee. He was Co-Founder and 1st President of the Interboro Soccer Club, 20 Years as Coach of Baseball, Basketball and Soccer, plus Ways and Means Director and for the last 10 years President of the Glenolden Youth Club. President of Glenolden's Fourth of July Activities, Founder, Director and Producer of the Glenolden Young People's Performing Arts Club for 15 years with close to 1000 young people performing Broadway Shows.1st Vice President of the Yachtstock River Jam, an event to raise money for families with a debilitating disease. Was Co-Emcee,and Co-Producer of the Rising Stars Vocal Competition to pick the winner to perform at the Yachtstock River Jam. Also volunteer at the Loaves and Fishes food pantry. He is a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War Era. With all the above community activities he was involved in, I believe he belongs in the Interboro School District "Hall ofFame”.
